Background
ChiCha San Chen is a bubble tea brand and chain based in Taiwan. They're known for their high-quality tea leaves and premium beverages as well as providing for their customers exceptional in-store experiences.
Bubble tea (or boba tea) is a beverage originating from Taiwan that has since gained popularity worldwide. Several prominent chain stores have opened up since, including Kung Fu Tea, Gongcha, and ChiCha San Chen.
Most consumers of boba are young Asian American professionals. Tea shops serve as a space for socialization and tea as a start to someone's day. The ways in which consumers engage with bubble tea stores are not dissimilar to those of coffee shops like Starbucks. To this end, I've created the following persona:

Jasmine serves as not just a representation of the ideal bubble tea drinker, but as an indicator of how boba stores can further improve their service for customers:
• Long lines & overcrowding hampers checkout time and diminishes customer experience.
• Rewards & freebies incentivize spending from younger, financially-leaner consumers.
• Simplifying customization reduces confusion and time spent waiting in lines by customers.

Ideation
My main goals during ideation were to generate ideas for features, build essential user flows, and determine cognitive load for stages of the user flow. I approached ideation from the top-down, breaking down larger ideas into smaller chunks. I then considered which ideas were most in-line with my vision and which to reject.
